2024 Season Outlook

The Lakota East women’s cross country team will be looking to shake things up in the GMC and beyond this upcoming year. Coming off a modest 8th place finish as a team at the OHSAA D1 Regional in Troy last season, the returning dynamic duo of juniors Molly Deardorff and Ava Dickenson look to lead the way for the Hawks in 2024. The pair finished 20th and 53rd respectively in the 2023 OHSAA D1 State Championships. Other key contributors are senior Sarah Rieger and juniors Brooks Billingsley and Elise Brown. The Hawks are looking to make some noise in the region as they begin their season at Fortress Obetz on 8/17/24.

The Lakota East men’s cross country team will be coming into the season looking to improve upon their team regional qualification in 2023. The Hawks will be spearheaded this season by the junior sensation Reilly Meyer, who finished 28th respectively at the 2023 OHSAA D1 State Championships and comes into the 2024 season conservatively ranked within the top 15 returners. He is backed by a phenomenal core of veterans including seniors Blake Gibbs, Evan Aponte, Luke Huggins, and Evan Watterson. Other key contributors include junior Elijah Grissom and freshman Jacob Turner. The Hawks will be looking to make a strong push for a GMC title and team qualification to the OHSAA State Championships this fall.
