BASEBALL DEFEATS MIDDIES AT MASON TODAY
The Lakota East Thunderhawks defeated the Middletown Middies 9-0 on Thursday (4/28). The win moved the Hawks to 12-5 (9-3 GMC) and in third place in the GMC.
Junior Carson French led the Thunderhawks on the mound. French threw 6 innings of shutout baseball, striking out a season-high 13 hitters and scattered five hits. French was relieved by junior Danny Sergent, who pitched a perfect 7th inning for the Hawks.
Offensively, the Hawks started off slow, not scoring until the 4th inning, when they were able to get their first hit of the game. The Hawks were led by senior Collin Sweeney (3-4, 2B, 2 RBI) and senior Nick Rabin (2-4, RBI, R), while the entire team was able to amass 9 total hits.
The Hawks have their final two series of the regular season coming up, with series against their conference rivals Mason Comets and Lakota West Firebirds. Next up, East (12-, 9-3) visits league leader, Mason TODAY, Friday, 4/29.
