East Boys Basketball sent their record to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the GMC with another thrilling overtime win at Princeton. The Vikings proved to be the Hawks toughest opponent on the season on Tuesday night at Princeton. The Vikes led by as many as 10 points in the 2nd half, before East closed out the fourth quarter with some key shooting and defensive efforts. Michael Akindele (17 points) led the come-back with clutch three-pointers sending the game to overtime.
In overtime, East held off the Vikes last second attempt with a key defensive rebound to achieve another close encounter with Princeton and remain undefeated on the season. JJ Smith played his best game as a Thunderhawk scoring 10 points and grabbing 4 rebounds. Trey Perry was held to just 15 points on the evening, but drew key defensive targets the opened up other offensive opportunities.
East will face another key GMC opponent on Friday when they visit Hamilton Big Blue.
