BOYS CC WINS WARRIOR!
The Lakota East men’s cross country team won their second big invitational in as many weeks at the Lebanon Running Warrior Invitational. There were 23 teams in the race.
The Hawks were led by fearless freshman Reilly Meyer. Reilly went out in front of the pack with the top upperclassmen in the field and finished 6th overall out of 422 runners. His time was 17:04 for the 5k (3.1-mile race) in wet and humid conditions, just 4 seconds off of his personal best performance he ran last week. Senior, Marshall Novean, was the #2 runner for East placing 16th overall in 17:40.
Marshall’s senior teammates were close behind in 18th (Ian Balfour, 17:44) and 19th (Sean Castillo, 17:45). Freshman, Luke Nomina, ran a personal best time of 17:51 despite the sloppy conditions to round out the scoring for the Thunderhawks. Nomina placed 24th overall.
Next up for Lakota East cross country will be the Loveland Twilight Invitational on Friday night, September 9th at Loveland High School.
