The Lakota East Cross Country team endured Saturday's rainy conditions as they competed at Centerville's Saturday Night Lights Meet.
Despite the mud filled course, all runners competed at an extremely high level. In the boys open race, Jackson Farnham and Ethan Monroe lead the way for the Hawks and scored PRs on the day.
The boys varsity black had the opportunity to run under the lights and worked together to turn in solid performances. Sophomores Silas Wood and Lucas Rieder ran side by side in their toughest races of the season.
The boys championship division runners were finally able to break out in the way that they always knew they were capable of. Evan Aponte lead the way for the Hawks, followed closely by Reilly Meyer and Blake Gibbs. Senior Luke Huggins put his grit on full display by stepping up to be the fifth runner for the Hawks.
The team is back in action next Saturday at VOA for the Conference championship.
