The Lakota East Men’s varsity cross country team won their 3rd meet in a row, in a 16-team field, this past weekend at the Milford Invitational. The top 3 Thunderhawk men came in just two seconds apart in 14th, 15th, and 16th place.
Evan Aponte (sophomore) was 14th in 16:55.2 for the 5k (3.1-mile) course at Valley View Nature Preserve’ , Reilly Meyer (freshman) was 15th in 16:56.1, and Marshall Novean (senior) was 16th in 16:57.3.
There were 150 runners in the race. Meyer’s time of 16:55 is a new personal record, and the 33rd fastest time ever ran in Lakota East history. Senior, Sean Castillo, ran a season-best time of 17:07 to place 18th overall. And senior, Nick Boeskool, ran a huge personal record to help bring home the victory for East. Nick’s time of 17:18 was a lifetime best performance by 29 seconds. That effort placed him 26th overall in the race.
Next up for the Lakota East Cross Country is the Princeton Invitational, to be held at Landmark Christian Campus on Saturday, September 24th.
