HAWKS FINISH 2ND IN GMC...POSTSEASON NEXT WEEK
The East boys soccer team finished off the regular season with a come from behind win on the road against Fairfield Thursday evening. After falling behind 0-1 in the middle of the first half, the Hawks responded with 2 minutes remaining in the first half with a strike from senior, Dylan Stidham, assisted by junior, Gavin Hook.
Eleven minutes into the 2nd half, East earned a free-kick just outside the penalty box. Senior captain, Braden Anderson, hit a shot past the Fairfield defensive wall and over the keeper to take the lead 2-1.
With eleven minutes remaining in the match, senior, Vicente Raymundo extended the lead to 3-1 after scoring off a scramble in the box. Kobe Foster recorded 5 saves on the match.
The Hawks finish 2nd in the GMC with a 10-4-2 (6-1-2 GMC). They open up tournament play as the #5 seed on Tuesday evening at home vs. Northwest Knights.
