On Tuesday night, the Lakota East boys soccer team secured a thrilling 2-1 victory over Turpin at home, improving their season record to 7-3-3 (5-2 GMC).
East wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, as senior Luis Perez-Luna struck a stunning free kick in the 3rd minute to give the Thunderhawks an early 1-0 lead. Turpin responded quickly, leveling the match at 1-1 with a goal in the 12th minute.
The game remained tied until the 46th minute when senior captain Shaun Dickerson delivered a pinpoint cross into the box, and fellow senior captain James Schnelle finished it with precision, giving East a decisive 2-1 advantage.
With the win, Lakota East looks ahead to a special night as they celebrate their seniors on Thursday when they host Colerain.
