The Lakota East Thunderhawks secured a dominant 4-1 road victory over Oak Hills in a Greater Miami Conference (GMC) matchup on Tuesday night. Senior Shaun Dickerson played a key role in the win, contributing a goal and three assists to help propel the Thunderhawks.
Dickerson opened the scoring in the 25th minute, finishing off a pass from fellow senior Chris Mfuranzima. Just four minutes later, Dickerson turned playmaker, assisting senior Josiah Pace's goal in the 29th minute to double the lead.
The Thunderhawks kept up the pressure, with Mfuranzima adding a third goal in the 35th minute, once again set up by Dickerson. Oak Hills responded quickly, scoring in the 36th minute, but the Thunderhawks' defense held firm the rest of the way.
In the 77th minute, Dickerson capped off his outstanding night with his third assist, setting up senior James Schnelle to add the final goal and secure the 4-1 victory.
With the win, Lakota East improves to 3-1-2 overall and 2-0-0 in GMC play. The Thunderhawks return home on Tuesday night for a cross-town rivalry game against Lakota West.
