The Lakota East Thunderhawks earned a dominant 3-0 road victory against Hamilton on Thursday, led by senior captain Shaun Dickerson and an all-around team effort. The win moves East to a 5-2-2 overall record and 4-1-1 in the GMC.
East wasted no time getting on the board, with Dickerson scoring in the first minute of the game. His goal was set up by a well-placed assist from senior Chris Mfuranzima, putting the Thunderhawks up 1-0 early.
After a hard-fought first half, Dickerson doubled the lead in the 49th minute, calmly converting a penalty kick. Just nine minutes later, senior Juan Bartolon-Perez sealed the win with a spectacular strike from 28 yards out, assisted once again by Mfuranzima.
Defensively, East was anchored by senior goalkeeper Ryan Warm, who secured the shutout with two saves to keep Hamilton off the scoreboard.
Lakota East will now prepare to host GMC rival Mason on Tuesday night as they look to continue their strong form in conference play.
