BOYS SOCCER TIES WITH SYCAMORE
The East boys soccer team battled to a 3-3 draw against the Sycamore Aviators Tuesday night. Twelve minutes into the match junior, Jacob Nguyen slotted a ball to senior captain, Connor Pletikapich, who dribbled past the Sycamore backline and fired a shot 17 yards out past the Aviator keeper.
East conceded two goals midway through the half, but Nguyen found the back of the net after receiving an aerial ball from senior, Andrew Harper equalizing the score 2-2 going into halftime.
Midway through the second half, the Hawks fell behind again after giving up a corner kick goal. Senior, Jack Pascoal, played the hero with 49 seconds left in the match after heading in a ball played by senior captain, Braden Anderson.
The Hawks are back in action Saturday afternoon as they take one division II powerhouse Summit Country Day. East record moves to 5-1-1 (1-0-1 GMC).
