HAWKS DEFEAT AVES TO CLAIM 9TH TITLE!
The Thunderhawks took down the Aviators in 4 sets Wednesday night to clinch the 2024 GMC title (25-13, 25-12, 23-25, 25-17). For the East VB program, this is their 9th GMC title (2024, 2019,2018,2017,2016,2014,2007,2006,2003). The Thunderhawks own the record for the most league titles since boys' volleyball became a GMC sport in 2002.
The Thunderhawks were led on offense by junior right-side hitter, Grant Simer, who had 14 kills and a .360 hitting percentage, and junior middle hitter, Matteo Puddu, who had 7 kills and a .571 hitting percentage on the night. Defensively, the Thunderhawks were led by senior outside hitter, Drew Honigford, who averaged a 2.24 in serve receive.
The Hawks are back in action Saturday as they host Walnut Hills and Fairmont in a tri-match. Game times are 10 am and 12 pm. Hope to see you there!
