SEASON RESULTS BELOW 

The East Chess team hosted Colerain on Thursday and defeated the Cardinals 5-0.   Ryan Everding, Sean Huggins, Daniel Eppley, Isaac Baumgarte, and Richard McCollum all won to secure the team's victory.

The East Chess Team traveled to Mason on Tuesday and was defeated by the Comets, 0-5.

The East Chess team traveled to Middletown on Tuesday to battle the Middies.  Our Hawks prevailed, winning 5-0.     Ryan Everding, Daniel Eppley, Richard McCollum, Ben Gomez, and Tyler Rakel all won their matches to lock up the team's victory.

The East Chess team hosted Oak Hills for the November 3rd GMC match.  Although the Hawks battled hard, the Highlanders were too much to handle as they beat East 3-2.   Isaac Baumgarte and Jeff Zhu scored two points for East.

The East Chess team traveled to the West side of the district to challenge the Firebirds.  The Thunderhawks played focused and were dialed in to pull off a 4-1 win over the Firebirds.   Sean Huggins, Daniel Eppley, Isaac Baumgarte, and Jeff Zhu all scored for the Hawks.

East Chess hosted the Big Blue from Hamilton and pulled off a 5-0 victory.    Ryan Everding, Sean Huggins, Richard McCollum, Tyler Rakel, and Prahlad Das all secured wins for the Hawk victory.

The East Chess team hosted the Sycamore Aviators on Thursday.   The Hawks prevailed in a very tight match earning a 3-2 victory and the first win over Sycamore in over 20 years.   Sean Huggins, Daniel Eppley, and Jeff Zhu all scored points for the Hawks.

The East Chess team traveled to Fairfield on Tuesday to challenge the Indians.   Fairfield put up a good fight but the Hawks were too much to handle as they won 4-1.   Sean Huggins, Daniel Eppley, and Isaac Baumgarte all earned wins while Ryan Everding and Jeff Zhu earned draws.

Hawks win at Princeton on 11/17 by a score of 4-1, improving their GMC record to 7-2.

The East Chess team competed at the GMC Tourney on November 29th and the Hawks had much success.    

East earned four victories: Princeton (5-0), Lakota West (3-2), Sycamore (4.5 - .5), and Fairfield (5-0).   The Hawks' lone defeat was against 1st place Mason, losing a hard-fought match, 2-3.    

The 4-1 record at the tournament solidified a 2nd-place GMC finish with an 11-3 record. 

"Sean Huggins won 2nd board of the year while Isaac Baumgarte won 4th board of the year. In addition, Daniel Eppley and Isaac Baumgarte received 2nd team honors while Sean Huggins and Ryan Everding earned 1st team honors.  The second-place finish is the Hawks' best since 2011."
