El Caporal, a staple of the Lakota and Mason communities known for its authentic Mexican cuisine and warm hospitality, is excited to announce the Team of the Week initiative, designed to celebrate outstanding local athletic teams for their achievements and contributions to the community.
Lakota East Boys Basketball Named El Caporal Team of the Week!
The East Boys Varsity Basketball team has once again been an exciting squad to watch during the 2024-25 season. While some may label them a "one-trick pony," those who have followed the Hawks closely know that couldn’t be further from the truth.
There’s no denying the impact of senior Trey Perry—who now ranks 2nd all-time in East scoring history—but the true strength of this team lies in its commitment to defense. The Hawks have been among the GMC’s best at shutting down opponents, holding teams to an impressive average of just 44.8 points per game.
East wrapped up the season with a strong 15-7 overall record and an 11-5 mark in conference play. They now turn their focus to the postseason, opening tournament play on Wednesday, February 26, against West Clermont at Mason. Under the leadership of Head Coach Clint Adkins, the Hawks are ready to make a strong tournament run.
