El Caporal Team of the Week is the Boys Wrestling Team
This week, we are thrilled to recognize the Lakota East Boys Wrestling Team as the El Caporal Team of the Week! The Hawk Boys Wrestling Team is continuing to have an outstanding season, staying undefeated with an 8-0 dual meet record so far in 2024-25. They recently earned big wins over Wilmington High School and, on Monday, defeated district rival Lakota West for the second year in a row by a score of 49-24. In that meet, the team recorded three pins in the first three matches, setting the tone for the rest of the dual. Competing with a complete lineup for the first time this season, the Thunderhawks won 9 of the 14 matches.
The Lakota East Wrestling Team is coached by Bryan Pennix, whose leadership continues to drive the team’s remarkable success.
El Caporal, a staple of the Lakota and Mason communities known for its authentic Mexican cuisine and warm hospitality, is excited to announce the Team of the Week initiative, designed to celebrate outstanding local athletic teams for their achievements and contributions to the community.
