Football defeated Mason in a big GMC matchup last Friday at the Hawks Nest. The final score was 20-13. East held a slim 7-6 advantage at the half.
Senion running back Chauncey Peck got things going in the 2nd half for East. At the 10:02 mark in the third quarter with the ball on the East 2-yard line, Peck rushed left and down the sideline for a 98-yard TD and the longest individual run from scrimmage in the 28-year history of Lakota East Football. Peck also scored in the first quarter on a 15-yard run and finished with 116 yards rushing.
Later in the quarter, Jayden Seay caught a 35-yard pass from Jamison Kitna concluding the East scoring for the night. Kitna finished 7/15 for 138 yards.
The defense came up with a huge stop latein the fourth quarter to keep Mason from tying the game and secure the win for the Hawks. Cohen Reip finished with an amazing 16 tackles.
Next up, East (1-1. 1-0) will visit Hamilton (1-1, 0-1) on Friday. Big Blue fell 31-0 to Lakota West last Friday.
