East opened their football season at home last Friday vs. GCL Moeller in the Hawks Nest. The Hawks took a 42-27 loss in the contest.
Fireworks were on tap as Lakota East and Moeller combined for 875 yards of total offense. The two clubs exchanged blows for the better part of three quarters until Moeller pulled away in the 2nd half.
Lakota East counterpunched with TJ Kathman, who threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 96 yards and a score. Eric Davis added 90 yards on the ground and Charlie Kenrich opened the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown plunge
Next up, East will visit Milford this Friday. The Eagles opened their season with a 41-14 win vs. Edgewood.
