Girls Basketball Falls to Colerain

In a hard-fought battle, the Lakota East Thunderhawks fell to the Colerain Cardinals 55-52 in a thrilling contest. Despite a standout performance from Bella Sturgill, who posted an impressive 24 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals, the Thunderhawks were unable to overcome the Cardinals’ offense. Brooke Asher also contributed significantly, recording 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals. Addyson Johnson added 7 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, providing valuable support in both scoring and playmaking. Despite a valiant team effort, Lakota East couldn’t quite close the gap, ultimately falling short in a 55-52 loss.

The Thunderhawks will look to regroup and come back stronger in their next contest against Springboro for their final regular season game on Wednesday.

East Girls earned the #4 seed in the upcoming Sectional. They will play #7 seed West Clermont in the 1st round at Fairfield on Tuesday, 2/18 at 7:30 PM.
