In a thrilling double-overtime battle, Lakota East came up just short against Mount Notre Dame, falling 69-67. Bella Sturgill led the charge for the Thunderhawks, finishing with 22 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal. Brooke Asher was also a key contributor, adding 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists while playing tough defense. Addyson Johnson chipped in with 12 points and 6 rebounds, while also contributing on the defensive end with 1 block. Parker rounded out the scoring with 11 points, shooting an impressive 50% from beyond the arc, along with 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal.
As a team, the Thunderhawks displayed great ball movement, registering 15 assists on 25 made baskets. However, despite their collective effort, Mount Notre Dame proved to be resilient, ultimately edging out Lakota East in the second overtime period for the hard-fought victory.It was a heartbreaking loss for the Thunderhawks, but they showed tremendous effort and determination throughout the contest, setting the stage for what could be a very promising season ahead.
