The Lakota East Thunderhawks powered their way to a 38-25 victory over the West Clermont Wolves in the first round of the state tournament, advancing to the District Finals. It was a strong team effort, led by Brooke Asher, who filled the stat sheet with 13 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 assists. Asher’s all-around performance was key in securing the win.

Addyson Johnson chipped in with 9 points and 4 rebounds, providing steady scoring throughout. Bella Sturgill added 6 points and 6 rebounds, while also contributing on defense with 1 steal. Bailey Bacher was a force on the boards, grabbing 7 rebounds to go along with 5 points, 4 assists, and 1 block, helping to maintain control on both ends of the court.

The Thunderhawks' defense was also a major factor, limiting the Wolves’ scoring opportunities and setting up several fast-break chances. With this victory, Lakota East now looks ahead to a tough matchup in the District Finals against Walnut Hills, where they’ll hope to keep their momentum rolling.

East will play Walnut Hills for a District Title on Friday, 2/21, 5:30 pm at Fairfield. The winner advances to the Sweet Sixteen! The Hawks will be seeking their programs 3rd District Championship (2011 & 2023).
