Girls Basketball off to a 2-2 start
The Lakota East Thunderhawks defeated the Oak Hills Highlanders 36-28 in a solid team performance on Saturday, 11/20. Brooke Asher led the way with 12 points, 2 assists, and 2 blocks, showcasing her all-around game and perfect 5-5 shooting at the free-throw line. Bella Sturgill contributed 9 points and 4 rebounds, providing valuable support on both ends of the court. Addyson Johnson added 6 points and dominated the glass with 7 rebounds, helping to secure the win for the Thunderhawks. The balanced effort from the team helped them overcome Oak Hills and take control of the game.
Next up, East (2-2, 1-0) plays at Sycamore on Wed. 12/4.
On Wed. 11/27 East fell to Winton Woods 59-43. Sturgill and Asher led the way with 19 and 13 points, respectively.
The Hawk ladies came back on Sunday, 11/24 with an overtime win over Wayne HS. Bella Sturgill was high scorer for East with 15 points. Bailey Bacher added 13.
East Girls opened their 2024-25 season on Saturday, 11/23 versus Big Walnut. The Hawks fell by a score of 57-37. Brooke Asher and Bella Sturgill led the way with 9 points each.
