GIRLS CC 6TH AT WARRIOR INVITE

The Lakota East women’s cross country team had a strong showing at the Lebanon Running Warrior Invitational on Saturday despite not having their #1 runner (Jocey Willis) in the lineup.  They placed 6th out of 14 teams.  

Senior, Dani Thorner, took charge for the Lady Hawks with a 15th place overall finish out of a 223-runner field.  Thorner’s time for the 5k (3.1 mile) course was 21:16.  Senior teammate Sarah Renfro ran a season-best time of 21:48 to be the 2nd East runner.  Her place was 26th overall. 

Sophomore, Brooke Wilson just missed her lifetime best time of 22:11 by running 22:12 to place 34th overall.  The Thunderhawk #4 runner was sophomore Meredith Brown, running a season-best 23:05 to place 63rd overall.  

Rounding out the scorers for East was junior Ella Huelskamp, also running a season-best 23:08 to place 65th overall.

Next up for Lakota East Cross Country is the Troy Twilight Invitational, next Saturday night, September 11th.
