GIRLS Cross Country 3rd at East Fall Classic
The Thunderhawk women also had an impressive showing at their home meet, placing 3rd overall out of 15 teams. Senior superstar, Jocey Willis, ran an evenly paced race and moved her way up through the field during the entire 5k (3.1-mile) race. When all was said and done, Jocey was 3rd place overall out of 120 runners and ran a tremendous early season time of 19:19.
Freshman, Ava Dickenson, bounced back from her struggles at the OHSAA Early Season Invitational last week to finish as the #2 Hawk this week. Ava placed 18th overall with a time of 20:38. Brooke Wilson (junior) placed 27th overall in 21:26 which is a new personal record for her. Junior, Meredith Brown, came across the line next for East in 42nd place in a season-best effort of 21:57. Emme Nguyen (sophomore) continues her great start to the 2022 season by placing 46th overall in a big personal record time of 22:02.
Next up for Lakota East Cross Country is the Lebanon Running Warrior Invitational at Lebanon High School next Saturday, September 3rd.
