The Lakota East women’s cross country team started to face some hot conditions in their race as they placed 13th out of 23 teams. Junior, Jocey Willis, continued to be the top Lady Hawk as she placed 15th overall out of 184 runners in 19:43.3, just off of her season-best, for the 5k (3.1-mile) course.
Senior, Dani Thorner, was back in the lineup this week and placed 69th overall as the #2 runner. Her time was 21:51.5. Junior, Hope Keith, ran a season-best time of 22:17.8 as the next Thunderhawk across the line in 92nd place. The next Hawk to finish was sophomore Meredith Brown, who placed 95th overall, with a big personal-best performance of 22:19.1. The final scorer for the Thunderhawks was sophomore Brooke Wilson, who placed 104th overall in 22:48.2.
Next up for the Lakota East Cross Country is the Princeton Invitational on Saturday, September 25th at Landmark Christian Campus.
