GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY SEASON OPENER AT OHSAA PREVIEW
The Lakota East Girls Cross Country team started the season with a strong showing at the OHSAA Preseason meet. The Hawks were led by sensational sophomore Molly Deardorff who knocked nearly a minute off of her previous personal best by placing 18th with a time of 19:25. Sophomore Elise Brown also had a strong showing in her cross country debut, with a respectable time of 21:31.
Rounding out the scoring for East were senior captains Brooke Wilson and Meredith Brown, and sophomore Maddie Still, all of whom ran extremely tough races in a crowded field of 350 runners. Despite having a young team this year, the Hawks are poised to turn heads as they improve throughout the season.
Next up, East CC hosts the East Fall Classic this Saturday, 8/26.
