GIRLS' SOCCER FALLS TO ELKS
A depleted THUNDER HAWKS team hosted the Elks of Centerville High School on Tuesday evening. There was plenty of trepidation about facing such a talented team with a number of girls sick or injured.
Although the Elks scored in the first 2 minutes, the Hawks tightened up their defense and ended the first half down 0-1 The Hawks had the run of play for the majority of the second half but we were unable to find the back of the net. A quick counter as the game was waning put the Elks up 2-0.
The final score will not reflect the tremendous effort and hard work put forth by these young ladies.
East Girls Soccer returns home to play Thursday night in the Hawks Nest for the first GMC league matchup against Fairfield. The JV team came away with a 0-0 tie, which was an impressive showing against an equally talented JV team.
