Girls Soccer Beats Middletown
Lakota East Women's soccer's focus on the program itself was on display Thursday night when Middletwon visited the hawk's nest and our senior played their last GMC home game of their high school careers. During a 6 nil win, rather than shine light on only themselves the seniors made sure to involve the entire JV team (which did not have a separate game) and everyone got playing time at the varsity level. They also focused the flow of passing toward highlighting teammates that usually do not get in the stat book. Sophia Ford scored her first two goals and Lauren Matlack got herself a brace with a nice headed goal and a back-post slotted ball as well. Abby Vogelman combined with Lexi Stelzer for a goal and Karol Oelker stepped into goal with two nice saves. Well done to the over 35 girls who played in the game.
East Girls Soccer (8-6-2, 5-3) will conclude their regular season TONIGHT at Lakota West.
East Girls Soccer is the #8 seed in the upcoming postseason. They will play at Seton (#4 seed) for a district semi-final match on Monday, 10/21.
