GIRLS SOCCER DEFEATS BIG BLUE
HAWKS HOST MASON FOR GMC ON THURSDAY
The Thunderhawk girls soccer team traveled to Hamilton to take on Big Blue in a GMC showdown.
On a wet and rainy night, the JV Hawks started the night with a 6-0 victory over Hamilton JV led by a hat trick from Freshman Maggie Keegan.
The varsity squad surrendered the first goal of the match to fall behind 0-1 early. The players stepped up and focused on their own game and in the end prevailed with a 3-1 victory. Goals were scored by Josie Bencic (Soph) who tallied two and Junior Erica Cox who drove home the other.
The backline play of Sidney Zawilla, Abby Burghard, Phia Perrino, and Mackenzie Blaylock as usual was stellar and helped secure the win with stout defensive play!
On Thursday night the Hawks host Mason who currently stands #1 in the GMC, #2 in the City, and #9 in the State! JV kicks off at 5:30 PM and Varsity at 7:15 PM.
