GIRLS SOCCER FALLS TO OAK HILLS
The Highlanders of Oak Hills visited the Hawks Nest on Thursday night. The #3 team in Cincinnati features three of the leading scorers in the GMC.
The Junior Varsity team was wrapped in a back-and-forth battle against a much more experienced squad in Oak Hills. Both sides had chances but neither could find the back of the net. A 0-0 draw was the eventual outcome.
The Varsity squad struck first when Senior Macy Collins battled for a loose ball inside the 6 and laced one in for a 1-0 lead.
The Highlanders tied things up before the half with a lofted ball from the far sideline. The high arching cross eventually came down out of the reach of Senior keeper Lucy Carlin into the side netting.
The Highlanders' second goal came off a baseline run and the eventual game-winner for a 1-2 defeat.
Statistically, the match saw 9 shots on frame for both teams in a battle of two of the top teams in the GMC.
East Girls will visit Lakota West on Thursday, Sept. 8th.
