GIRLS SOCCER TAKES TOUGH LOSS TO ZIONSVILLE
The Hawks tackled the weather and Indiana powerhouse Zionsville on Saturday. As the day heated up the Varsity match kicked off and the first half ended scorelessly.
The Hawks found the back of the net first when Junior Lauren Sullivan found Senior Carly Graham with an outlet pass that Graham buried in the upper 90.
Shortly after the Eagles of Zionsville knotted it up and the heat continued to wear down both sides. Both teams had chances and as the clock ticked down the final minute Zionsville headed in a lofted ball with 23 seconds left.
That dagger gave Zionsville a hard-fought victory and leveled the Hawks record at 2-2.
The Hawks open league play on Thursday away at Oak Hills. JV kicks off at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:15 pm
