The women's varsity CC tean hosted the Lakota East Invite this past Saturday. The team was lead by their pair of junior frontrunners Ava Dickenson and Molly Deardorff, scoring 7th and 8th place finishes. Senior Sarah Rieger has continued her crusade to step up in every way she possibly can. Sarah ran a tremendous race, setting a lifetime PR in the process to find her role as the third scorer for the Thunderhawks. Elise Brown and Emme Ngyuen both knocked a minute off of their last week's time and will continue to serve as crucial scorers for the Hawks. The team logged an 8th place finish in a deep field of 19 teams.
The boys and girls open races showed out in a major way for East. Senior Steven Troutman had a monster PR, battling to a 13th place finish in a field of 262 runners. Sophomore Jackson Ferrell also turned out a monster performance in his first ever 5k showing. On the girls side, senior Alyssa Brunk had an impressive 14th place finish in very hot conditions.
The Hawks are back in action this Saturday at the Lebanon Invitational.
