The Lakota East Cross Country team got the regular season underway in spectacular fashion at the Lakota East Fall Classic on Saturday. The varsity boys started hot, with nearly all 10 runners knocking a minute or more off of their previous week's time. Senior Captain Blake Gibbs turned on the jets to clock a 16:06, good enough to bump him up to the 11th fastest man in Lakota East history. Stepping up again were freshman Jacob Turner and sophomore Daniel Gibson, finishing second and third, respectively. Elijah Grissom and Evan Watterson rounded out the scoring for the Hawks. The team finished 8th in a loaded field of 18 teams.
