Lakota East Tabs Matt Ellis Head Coach of Girls Volleyball
The Lakota East Athletic Department is proud to announce the hiring of Matthew Ellis as the new Head Coach of the Girls Volleyball program, pending approval from the Lakota Board of Education.
Ellis brings a wealth of experience at both the high school and club levels, currently coaching at Cincinnati Volleyball Academy in Mason, Ohio. Since 2019, he has also been a key Loveland High School Volleyball coaching staff member and has coached club volleyball at the University of Cincinnati.
With a strong vision for the program's future, Ellis aims to foster a collaborative culture, prioritize athlete development, and build a highly competitive volleyball program—all while serving as a leader within the Lakota community.
"I am thrilled to welcome Coach Ellis to the Lakota East volleyball program," said East Athletic Director Jill Meiring. "He is a highly energetic and motivational coach who brings extensive knowledge and a deep passion for the game.
The vision he has for our program is centered on authenticity, accountability, and creating an environment where athletes feel empowered to be themselves. I have no doubt he will be successful in building that culture, and I’m excited for our student-athletes and the experience they will gain under his leadership.”
Ellis graduated from Northern Kentucky University in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Business. Outside of coaching, he works as a Surveillance Technician at Hard Rock Cincinnati.
