Powerful Pitching Performance From Kaleigh Crawford Carries Softball Past Princeton

Kaleigh Crawford was dominant in the circle, as the hurler rang up 11 strikeouts in Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks's 12-1 victory over Princeton on Wednesday. Crawford allowed two hits and one run over five innings while walking none.
Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks got on the board in the top of the first inning after Haley Thompson doubled to right field, Crawford singled, Krystalin Wagner singled, and Maddie Offner walked, each scoring one run.
Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks added one run in the second. Thompson grounded out, making the score 5-0.
Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks added four more runs in the top of the third inning on two hits. Wagner hit a solo home run to center field, Amber Munoz singled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs.
Princeton scored one run in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run to right field by M Burke.
A Pates took the loss for Princeton. The pitcher went five innings, surrendering 12 runs (eight earned) on 11 hits, striking out one and walking four.
Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks accumulated 11 hits in the game. Thompson drove the middle of the lineup, leading Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks with three runs batted in. The first baseman went 2-for-4 on the day. Munoz went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks in hits. Crawford and Wagner each collected multiple hits for Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks. Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks didn't commit a single error in the field. Abrie Schulte had the most chances in the field with six.
Burke went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Burke and K Harris each collected one hit for Princeton. Princeton turned one double play in the game.
