GRANT SIMER

Lakota East Athletics is proud to recognize GRANT SIMER, a senior standout on the Boys Volleyball Team, as this week’s Putters Sports Grill Spring Athlete of the Week!

A four-year Varsity starter for the Thunderhawks, Grant has been a cornerstone of the program and a driving force behind the team's continued success. His leadership, experience, and competitive fire are evident in every match, as are his stats.

Grant is currently dominating the GMC leaderboards, sitting:
1st in Kills with 194
1st in Aces with 33
3rd in Blocks with 33

His all-around game and relentless energy make him one of the most impactful players in the conference. Grant’s hard work has also earned him a future at the next level — he’s committed to play at Northern Kentucky University next year!

ETHAN VASS

Lakota East Athletics is proud to recognize ETHAN VASS, a junior standout on the Varsity Boys Tennis Team, as this week’s Putters Sports Grill Spring Athlete of the Week!

Ethan holds down the 1st singles spot for the Thunderhawks and has kicked off the season with an impressive 4-0 record, despite a rainy spring that’s limited match play. His passion for the sport is unmatched — Ethan lives and breathes tennis, bringing energy, focus, and a love for the game to every practice and match.

More than just a talented athlete, Ethan is a true student of the game. His deep knowledge of opponents and dedication to preparation make him an invaluable asset to the coaching staff, often acting like an extra assistant coach. His insight and leadership give the Thunderhawks a competitive edge every time they take the court.

Congratulations, Ethan! Your work ethic, tennis IQ, and love for the game are what make you a true standout at Lakota East. Keep it rolling!
