Kaitlyn Haiber didn't allow a single run as Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks defeated Middletown 12-0 on Friday. Haiber allowed just five hits. Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the sixth inning. Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks put the pressure on, lead by doubles by Leah Arnett, Samantha Hermes, Tessa Koziel, Brianna Lawson, and Arnett, an error on a ball put in play by Hailey Hensley and Jenna Sterwerf, and a groundout by Haiber.
Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks got things moving in the first inning. Hermes singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run. Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks tallied eight runs in the sixth inning. Arnett, Hensley, Hermes, Koziel, Haiber, and Lawson each drove in runs during the inning. A single by Fletcher in the second inning was positive for Middletown.
Haiber earned the win for Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on five hits over six innings, striking out six and walking zero.
Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks racked up 14 hits in the game. Leilah Ferrari, Arnett, Koziel, and Hermes each collected multiple hits for Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks. Ferrari went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks in hits. Arnett led Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with four stolen bases. Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks didn't commit a single error in the field. Hermes had the most chances in the field with seven.
