Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks took the lead late in the game in a 9-7 victory over Sycamore on Monday. Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks trailed 7-6 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Leah Arnett doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
Sycamore scored four runs in the fourth inning, but Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks still managed to pull out the victory.
Kaitlyn Haiber pitched Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks to victory. The ace surrendered seven runs on nine hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking zero. Lilly Sepelak threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks racked up nine hits on the day. Halina Schulte, Arnett, and Hailey Hensley each had multiple hits for Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks. Hensley, Arnett, and Schulte all had two hits to lead Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks.
East Softball (9-4, 6-3) is back in action today at Fairfield.
