HAWKS STAY TIED ATOP THE GMC!
Lakota East put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 20-2 margin over the Middletown Middies. Winning may never get old, but Lakota East sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Karli Damen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Damen was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Halina Shulte was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Isabella Rodrigues was another key contributor, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and a triple.
Lakota East's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. As for Middletown, they haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.

Lakota East put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Middletown Middies a 14-0 shutout. The win was nothing new for Lakota East as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Kaleigh Crawford was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Crawford was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, a triple, and a stolen base.
In other batting news, Haley Thompson and Jaedyn Armbruster did most of the damage at the plate: Thompson went 1-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Armbruster scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Krystalin Wagner, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Lakota East has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
East Softhball (15-6, 11-2) remains tied with Mason for a share of the GMC lead with a week left in the regular season. East visits Sycamore TODAY, 4/26. They have a non-conference game at Centerville on Saturday.
