HAWKS STILL TIED FOR GMC LEAD!
Haley Thompson hit three home runs and drove in six as Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks defeated Sycamore Varsity AVIATORS 16-4 on Friday.
Thompson homered in the first, second, and fifth innings. Jaedyn Armbruster hit a solo home run to center field, Halina Schulte singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Thompson homered to center field, scoring two runs.
Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Lilly Bansingled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs.
Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks added four more runs in the top of the fourth inning on three hits.
Amber Munoz hit a solo home run to left field, Armbruster doubled, scoring one run, and Krystalin Wagner singled, scoring one.
Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks scored one run in the top of the fifth on a solo home run to left field by Thompson.
Sycamore Varsity AVIATORS scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth on a home run to center field by Gambaccini.
Karli Damen earned the win for Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks. The right-handed pitcher surrendered five hits and four runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out one and walking three.
Ava Andolina took the loss for Sycamore Varsity
AVIATORS. The reliever went two innings, allowing eight runs (four earned) on six hits, striking out none and walking none.
Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks tallied 15 hits in the game. Leah Arnett, Hailey Hensley, Schulte, and Armbruster each collected multiple hits for Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks. Destiny Zimmer paced Lakota East Varsity Thunderhawks with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing five walks for the game.

In a non-conference game on Saturday, East fell to Centerville 10-0. No highlights or details were provided.
Going into the final week of the regular season, East and Mason are tied for the GMC lead with 12-2 marks.
The Hawks host Fairfield TODAY, 4/29. They play at Hamilton on Wednesday, at Oak Hills on Thursday, and host Oak Hills on Friday.
