The EL CAPORAL Team of the Week-- Football
This week's EL CAPORAL, Lakota East Team of the Week is the Thunderhawk Football Team.
East Football enters the final week of the regular season with a record of 7-2 overall and 6-1 in the GMC. The Hawks are striving for their first league title since 2004. East will have an opportunity to capture that goal with a win this Friday against district rival Lakota West. The two schools last met in the 2nd round of the 2020 post-season with the Firebirds getting the upper hand. The Hawks are seeking a return to the playoffs for the 5th time in their program history (2012, 2014, 2018, 2020). The top 16 teams in Region 4 will qualify for a spot. East is currently 5th overall in the computer rankings.
A sellout is expected for Friday's cross-town battle. Tickets should be purchased online in advance of the 7:00 kickoff.
